Southern Oregon
Professional Ballet Company
Since
1980
Since 1985, Ballet Rogue (formerly the State Ballet Of Oregon) has presented
ballet programs in Lithia Park on Monday evenings during July and August. This
Ashland summer tradition is sponsored in part by the City of Ashland and is free
to the public. Ballet Rogue has received national attention in various
publications including Sunset Magazine, Dance Magazine, and USA Today. The
company is best known for its Ballet In The Park series and its annual
full-length production of The Nutcracker performed at the Craterian Ginger
Rogers Theater in Medford, Oregon, where it is a company in residence. Dancing
experience in either of these productions is a welcomed addition in a dancer's
resume. Ballet Rogue is an educational nonprofit corporation. Co-founder,
artistic director, and choreographer is Diane Gaumond-Hyrst.
